Update About Our Precious Maltese Dog!

I haven’t been blogging very faithfully, as our little dog, Tchotchke, has needed a lot of love and attention following his run in with congestive heart failure.  He has been doing a lot better, but his appetite all but disappeared with the course of different drugs he is on–one to make his heart beat stronger, a diuretic which targets keeping his lungs clear, a regular diuretic, and an ACE inhibitor to keep blood pressure low.

Not to bore you with medical jargon we have been prescribed a brand new miracle liquid called “Entyce.”  It is a brand spanking new appetite stimulant, a ghrelin receptor, and if you never heard of ghrelin it is what makes humans and dogs hunger for food!  A tiny 3 ml. each day is enough to make our pup hunger for his food again!  A miracle in a bottle.  Not for humans, just dogs.  So if any of you have an older dog that thru illness or pain has lost his desire to eat, please see your vet for a prescription.  It works great in about 70% of the dogs tested.

Please be patient and I promise I will post more regularly when our tiny patient gets better!
